Who we are The UndergroundTrader is a premium, real-time trading chatroom and training site that specializes in trading U.S. equities, e-mini’s futures, bonds and currencies. We use both discretionary and systemic techniques rooted in technical analysis to find profit opportunities in the various markets throughout the market day. We cater to active traders, fund managers, and investors alike with our trade alerts and market commentary. The goal of trading is to find transparency before it becomes transparent. Our main service is the Underground Trading Pit, which is our interactive, Java-based trading chatroom where live, real-time trading alerts are called throughout the day. We attempt to profit from market volatility while minimizing risk and preserving capital with the use of technical analysis and indicators. We are speculators, not gamblers. Markets are fluid creatures that behave in patterns. By tempering our calls with solid tools and methods, we maintain consistency and our members profit from it. Our goal is to educate our members in our different styles of trading so they can choose one style or form a hybrid version of styles that best suits their personality and trading abilities.
How we are different The underlying theme has always been SUBSTANCE. From day one (Jan 4th, 1999) our purpose was to allow traders access to REAL information about the markets. News, analyst upgrades/downgrades, talking head commentary and economist mumbo-jumbo are all excuses that conveniently explain a market’s move after the fact . There was -- and still is -- a lot of hype, fluff and misinformation in the markets, and the UndergroundTrader is a sanctuary for the active trader and insightful investor. It all boils down to three types of money in the market: the smart money, the big money, and the sheep. The smart money and big money leave footprints in the sand, and our job is to follow those footprints with objective tools and methods to carve out profits. We have stayed on the cutting edge of methodology from the raging bull market being one of the first sites to address Nasdaq level 2 trading, ax market makers, 1 minute stochastics charts, Fibonacci retracements, three price breaks, market structures and seed waves to the ice cold bear market utilizing coil overshoots and backfills, multiple time frame charts, wave analysis, exploiting in efficiencies in light volume, time based mood shifts, pups and mini pups, ntu’s, natural squares, time/price progression, etcetera. Our methods continue to evolve and adapt from the trenches . IMITATION is the sincerest form of flattery, and there are LOTS of imitation sites out there who assume they can take our methods and claim them as their own in feeble attempts to fool the public – luckily for us, today’s traders are smarter, no longer naïve, and they want reality based methods – not an imitation of the real thing. As the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". We choose to stay underground for a reason. The mainstream is always wrong: just ask the buy and hold guys. We have built our reputation solely on the merits of our solid innovative style of trading. We don’t need to pound into people’s heads how great we are, because actions speak louder than words. First-hand experience and knowledge is the truth, and our biggest proof is success. Most of our members have been ‘around the block’ and have come to us to fill that gap in their knowledge. How to use our service New members should always consult the Trader Training information once they sign up, as it provides an invaluable background and foothold into the methods. Traders should observe the alerts first and watch alongside us utilizing the indicators and charts that we provide. We hold nothing back as far as the methods are concerned; we educate and continue to reinforce the methods daily. Jay’s style is based mostly on the stochastics and moving averages charts on multiple time frames utilizing a lead indicator known as the noodles and spoos to give a foreshadowing effect on the equities markets. Traders should only start off papertrading one stock or instrument until they reach consistency; the alerts are only for experienced traders who are familiar with the instruments and can react appropriately. Most importantly, you must be able to see what we see and understand the rationale when getting into a trade. We're more interested in teaching you how to fish, as the expression goes. We don’t predict prices, we react . Preparation is the key to any trade. We knew from the beginning there was a need for substance in the market place. We set out to achieve this task by creating the 'Underground Level 2 Daytraders Handbook'. Due to the numerous requests, we went one step further and presented an online seminar, 'UndergroundTrader Training'. This was an exciting experience as we ripped apart all myths and misconceptions about the markets, deprogrammed bad habits and took our students through a period of rebirth, forging new foundations built on solid, proven techniques and straight, hardcore truths about the game. In the end, our greatest accomplishment stood before our eye, a small army of solid, confident and heavily armed sniper traders. It was at this point we realized our destiny would lead us to launch The UndergroundTrader. Too many people have been taken the cleaners, believing the hype and misinformation about the markets. It was time for a change. The people have spoken. We have responded. It has long been time for substance and integrity to take a stand. Let the revolution begin... |
