The following are the guidelines for the Trading Pit. ALL members are expected to follow them, and we ask that you remember that the TradingPit is a forum for market and daytrading discussion, and as such, the atmosphere should always be respectful, professional and courteous.
Rules of Conduct in the Pit
Respect all members, instructors and
channel operators (purple people) in the Pit.
This includes:
-No deliberate antagonizing or belittling
of members;
-No sexist jokes or comments;
-Do not be deliberately distracting;
-No offensive language.
No Hype or frontrunning: By this, we mean repeated attempts to pump up a non-moving stock in an attempt to sell your own position. Mentioning a stock or idea once is acceptable; however, constant mentions and acknowledgements of momentum when the stock is NOT moving is generally considered hype. Members should DISCLOSE whether they have a position in a stock they mention.
No promotion of competing sites or other businesses, and no solicitation of members for other services (stock related or not).
Again, while such behaviours are obviously unacceptable and should need no explanation, it also has to do with respect; members do not join to be spammed/solicited. That also is considered a repeated distraction, and such things usually result in complaints from people trying to concentrate on the market. Simply put, any of the above can be considered distractions, and if it disturbs other members and keeps them from concentrating on trading, then it's an unacceptable distraction.
Only JAY or RAL make CALLS or TRADE ALERTS.
That said, members are encouraged to point out stocks that have momentum, news, or technical indicators that we use in the pit. The TradingPit is a forum to share ideas and to grow as a group in a community that is both professional and friendly. Simply put, we are all adults here; we believe in the freedom of people's speech and opinions; however, there are lines that shouldn't be crossed, and we believe they are adequately drawn above.
Please note that continued violations of the above guidelines will result in disciplinary action ranging from being placed on VIEW-ONLY status to termination of membership, depending on the frequency and severity of the violation(s). If you feel a member has violated the above rules, please send an email to jay@undergroundtrader.com or admin@undergroundtrader.com. As is in our terms of service, Undergroundtrader.com reserves the right to terminate any membership at any time at its sole discretion.
Also, if you are pulled aside by one of the SysOps in the Pit (e.g., if you suddenly find yourself no longer in the pit, but in #Support) and/or if a SysOp makes a request of you, please be assured that it is for the good of everyone; being pulled aside or questioned by a SysOp doesn't mean you are "in trouble" or that anything is necessarily wrong; by the same token, if you are asked something by a SysOp, or asked to do something, please be cooperative. And note that we will never ask for your password - though we may ask for something like your Zip code or other bits of information for the purposes of account validation.
ALL members must adhere to the following Terms of Service.
If you have further questions about these terms or any other terms of membership in the UndergroundTrader, please read our Disclaimer.
